NTN Europe becomes a shock absorber manufacturer alongside LTM

NTN Europe has acquired a stake in LTM, a specialist shock absorber manufacturer, confirming its ambition to become a key player in this segment. This transformative transaction strengthens its position in the automotive aftermarket and supports its industrial momentum.
Stronger industrial collaboration
Following a technical and commercial partnership that began in late 2023, NTN Europe has acquired a 35% stake in LTM, a subsidiary of the Mecatech group. This strategic alliance marks a new stage for the equipment manufacturer, which launched its own range of shock absorbers under the SNR brand in December 2023.
Since then, the two companies have developed strong synergies in product innovation, logistics and data management. This link, which is now capital-based, strengthens NTN Europe's strategy to ramp up its presence in the shock absorber segment.
An industrial lever to support aftermarket growth
With this investment, NTN Europe intends to accelerate the development of LTM's industrial capabilities in Tunisia. The objective is to increase production volumes and meet growing market demand. Drawing on LTM's expertise and its own OE (original equipment manufacturer) DNA, NTN Europe aims to offer high-quality shock absorbers tailored to the requirements of leading manufacturers.

This new step is fully in line with NTN Europe's 2024-2026 strategic plan, which aims to strengthen its presence in the independent aftermarket (IAM).
A broader offering for a more visible positioning
With the addition of shock absorbers to its product portfolio, NTN Europe now offers distributors a complete range of suspension components, including wheel bearings, suspension stops, transmission joints and, now, shock absorbers. This ‘corner concept’ approach makes the offering easier to understand and enhances the visibility of the SNR brand at points of sale.
A shared ambition focused on innovation
This increase in capital seals a shared vision between NTN Europe and LTM: to offer innovative, high-quality shock absorbers that enhance vehicle performance. It also illustrates the group's desire to support local industry while affirming its technological leadership in Europe.
