Nellie Aabech

NTN Europe will be supporting young Norwegian downhill mountain biking champion Nellie Aabech throughout the 2025 season. This sporting partnership, which is all about performance, commitment and human values, reflects a shared ambition to push the boundaries on the most demanding tracks on the world circuit. This collaboration has been made possible thanks to the support of Kulelagerhuset, a Norwegian distributor of NTN bearings and Associate member of the Partnership Program. Together, they are joining forces to give Nellie the best possible conditions to express her full potential.

An impressive rise in downhill mountain biking

At just 17 years old, Nellie Aabech has quickly established herself as a rising star in downhill mountain biking. In 2024, she had a remarkable season: victory in the Norwegian Junior Championships, qualification for the World Cup final in Loudenvielle, 14th place in the World Championships in Andorra and 11th place in the European Championships. This rapid progress is testament to her talent and determination.

NTN Europe, a committed partner for young athletes

As a long-standing partner of the cycling industry, NTN Europe is proud to support Nellie in her international career. This commitment is part of our desire to support young talent, particularly in demanding disciplines such as downhill mountain biking. Thanks to this sponsorship, the athlete benefits from the joint technical support of Kulelagerhuset and NTN, whose NTN wheel hub bearings, specifically thin section deep groove ball bearings, are fitted to her mountain bikes.

Appreciated for their high load capacity, compact size and low torque, these bearings are perfectly suited to the stresses of downhill mountain biking. Equipped with special seals, these NTN bearings also ensure optimal sealing, even in the most demanding environments such as mud, dust or water spray, thus guaranteeing a long service life without compromising their smooth running. These characteristics make this technology the optimal choice for the extreme conditions of downhill mountain biking.

2025 schedule and goals

2025 is shaping up to be an intense year for Nellie, with a busy schedule that includes ten World Cup stages, a European Championship in Spain, and potentially the World Championships in Switzerland. Her goal is to qualify for all the World Cup finals and finish in the top 10 in the junior world rankings.

At the same time, she is continuing her studies at Wang Toppidrett, a Norwegian high school dedicated to elite athletes, where she is perfecting her physical condition, technique and mental preparation.

A collaboration based on shared values

Through this partnership, NTN Europe is supporting a passionate, disciplined and forward-looking athlete. Nellie embodies values that are dear to our company: perseverance, excellence, team spirit and international openness.

By becoming a brand ambassador, she also helps to promote our image among committed and inspiring audiences.

This sponsorship is part of a broader commitment by NTN Europe to support the next generation and promote sustainable mobility, in line with its CSR strategy. Cycling, and the cycling market more broadly, is a promising sector that we actively support through our industrial partnerships, technological innovations and human commitment. Encouraging responsible and sustainable sports is one of our company's top priorities.
