Formula Student Prototype Car
NTN Europe is committed to helping future mechanical engineering talent by supporting innovative university projects in various universities. This is the case of the Formula and Moto Student challenge sponsored by our subsidiary NTN Ibérica, which aims to promote innovation and sustainable mobility by helping students to create high-performance, innovative prototype vehicles.

What does the Formula and Moto Student project involve?

These are university projects run by students from all over the world as part of their mechanical engineering training.

  • Formula Student: an international competition in which teams of students design, build and drive their own electric or internal combustion racing cars.
  • Moto Student: a programme to create innovative electric or internal combustion motorbikes.

These projects involve students throughout the year and culminate in final races held in July and August for the cars and in October (every other year) for the motorbikes. This year, we will be closely following the Spanish students from the University of Carlos III in Madrid.

NTN Europe, sponsor and educational ally

This partnership is part of NTN Europe's commitment to helping train students in key sectors such as the automotive industry and zero-carbon electric mobility. As a sponsor, NTN Europe provides high-quality bearings as well as university training courses open to all engineering students. This collaboration enables students to optimise the performance of their prototypes while enhancing their technical expertise.

NTN Europe's support is of paramount importance to the students involved in these projects. In addition to the fact that they benefit from quality parts (bearings, chassis, etc.), this collaboration also enables them to forge links with an international company and the world of industry.

NTN Europe invests in training mechanical engineers

This scheme is part of NTN's approach, as a responsible and committed player, to contribute to the industrial world by sharing its know-how and expertise with the younger generations. This collaboration is part of a vision for the future, supporting talented young professionals who will become key players in tomorrow's industrial sectors.

At the same time, NTN is investing in the training of young people through various projects and actions such as:

  • Sponsorship of the HSNR racing team at the University of Niederrhein and the participation of an NTN engineer who gives courses on bearings at the Fachhochschule University in Germany.
  • The creation of the Bearing Wizard website, which provides technical and educational content for engineering students.
  • The involvement of experts in universities in many countries for more than 10 years.
  • More than 200 work-study students and internsjoin our teams every year. Since 2022, the company has been awarded the Happy Trainees label, which rewards companies that offer their trainees and alternates a rewarding and fulfilling professional experience.

In short, the partnership between NTN Europe and the Formula Student and Moto Student projects illustrates a shared vision: to promote innovation, education and sustainable development while creating mutual long-term opportunities.
